Scanto

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-26

Your images never leave your device

Scanto is designed around a single rule: photos you scan are processed entirely inside your own browser. Edge adjustment, perspective correction, color filtering, and PDF creation all run on your device using standard web technologies (Canvas, Web Workers). At no point is a scanned image uploaded to Scanto's servers or any third party, because Scanto does not operate a server that accepts image uploads at all.

What we do collect

We may use privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics (such as Plausible or Umami) to understand aggregate traffic to this site — for example, which pages are visited and roughly how often. This analytics data never includes the contents of any document you scan, because that content never reaches our servers in the first place.

Advertising

This site may display advertising served by third-party networks such as Google AdSense. These networks may use cookies or similar technologies to serve relevant ads. You can learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Local storage & offline use

If you install Scanto to your home screen, your browser may cache application files (not your documents) so the tool keeps working offline. Clearing your browser's site data removes this cache.
